VISION: To provide comprehensive care, support, and protection to GBV victims, orphans, vulnerable and needy children; to empower the community in and around Mokopane through palliative care, youth development, environmental care, and food security initiatives.
MAIN CHALLENGES ADDRESSED BY THE COMMUNITY: Gender-based violence, care and support for orphans and vulnerable children (OVC), youth unemployment, poverty, climate change, food insecurity.
MAIN ACTIVITIES:
- Gender-Based Violence (GBV) support and prevention campaigns
- Daily meals, educational and emotional support for orphans and vulnerable children
- Youth development through education, arts, culture, and health awareness
- Food gardening to improve food security and environmental sustainability
- Climate change resilience and permaculture training
- Sewing and skills development
- Early Childhood Development (ECD) programme
Bathuseng Community Centre, based in Danisane Village, Mapela, Limpopo Province, was established on 19 October 2006 and became a SCAT partner in 2023. The organisation works to uplift the standard of living in Mokopane through a range of community-driven interventions.
