Ukhahlamba Legal Advice and Development Agency (formerly named Herschel Advice Office), is located in Sterkspruit, a town in Senqu Local Municipality in the Eastern Cape. This LDA deals with paralegal cases from Sterkspruit and all surrounding villages including Herschel. The beekeeping activities of groups they supported in the past are well known. They’ve faced many challenges that helped them to learn about planting appropriate trees and shrubs to adequately support the bee colonies.
Responding to the the needs in the community, they recently opened a drop-in centre for children and youth at risk. The purpose of the centre is to provide safe, nurturing and age appropriate care for children in the community they serve.
